Marion Georgiev started rescuing horses when she saw a group of photos of pitiful PMU foals waiting to be shipped to the abbatoir. With the help of friends, a few of these lovely horses made it to safety and loving homes. Then, the next year, there were more. She would find a horse, find a match of it, and be sure that was the last one.
It is never the last one, with the economy failing, with the horse value dropping, often good horses end up in bad places.
Enter Meryl and Gail. Meryl had been matched with a lovely OTTB whose owner had asked Marion to place her. She and Gail decided to formalize the rescue effort, and be responsible for the funding, and fund raising and incorporation.
Marion still does the training and hands on managing of the horses.
